Artist Statement

I use my art to promote the lives of people who struggle in an effort to make a better life for themselves and their family; people who may not get the respect they deserve from society. As an artist raised from humble beginnings, I value the true worth of people based on their integrity and compassion. Most often I depict women and children as my focus as they are often held in a lower opinion in society. I want to raise awareness that people should not be judged based on their sex or age or income. Although my art represents the struggle for equality in Haiti I know that the struggle is universal and that my art has meaning in many cultures.
